Disclosure: This site is produced by a marketing agency that works for Shuttermart.

Shuttermart is a family-owned and operated San Diego company that manufactures custom interior shutters locally and sells and installs them directly to homeowners across San Diego County.[1][2] Its main product lines are Polyclad (hardwood core with a PVC surface), 100% vinyl and 100% basswood shutters.[3] The company describes itself as serving San Diego for more than 70 years on its home page and for over 75 years on its About page.[4][1]

Who is Shuttermart?

Shuttermart says it is a family-owned and operated business rooted in San Diego that manufactures all of its shutters locally (it says it molds the poly and mills the wood itself rather than assembling shipped-in parts),[5] and that its customers include homeowners, major retailers and the hospitality industry.[1] Its installation page describes it as the region’s only manufacturer of shutters selling directly to retail.[6]

The company’s office address is 9825 Carroll Centre Rd, Ste 400, San Diego, CA 92126; see contact and hours.[7]

How long has Shuttermart been in business?

The site gives two figures. The home page and site footer say “Quality Interior Shutters in San Diego for over 70 years,” while the About, warranty and basswood pages say “over 75 years.”[4][1][8][5] The Interior Wood Shutters page adds that the company has led with its patented Polyclad Hardwood Shutter since 1991.[9] The site does not give a founding year.

What happened with Shutters N 7?

Shuttermart’s FAQ says Shuttermart and Shutters N 7 merged to offer better prices and now advertise only under the Shuttermart name.[2] The warranty page says the combination was made to streamline operations, lower prices and keep manufacturing local.[8]

Which notable projects has Shuttermart done?

Shuttermart says the Hotel del Coronado hired it to design and build custom shutters for nearly 100 guest rooms, a project that had to balance historical accuracy with modern function.[1]

Is Shuttermart a licensed contractor?

Shuttermart’s FAQ says it is licensed and insured in California under license number 1122781.[2] You can check any California contractor license on the Contractors State License Board’s lookup.[10] This wiki did not check the license status itself.

What awards does Shuttermart mention?

Shuttermart’s Interior Wood Shutters page says the Window Covering Manufacturers Association gave its Polyclad Hardwood Shutter a “Product Innovation Award of the Year.”[9] The page gives no award year, and this wiki has not confirmed the award independently.
